Yay! Happy Coffee Day! lol.

Frankly, I don’t need a special date on the calendar to celebrate coffee, but I will definitely take the time to celebrate it today!

warm fuzzies…

I do love coffee. I love coffee hot, iced, frozen. I love coffee flavored baked goods or desserts. Coffee ice cream. Coffee candy.

I use my Keurig almost daily. It is rare that I don’t have 1 cup of coffee a day from my Keurig!

But my favorite way to drink coffee is from my coffee press.

About 20 years ago I was visiting a friend’s family from college, and her older brother brewed coffee with a French press. I was intrigued. I remember he used some kind of expensive bean, and when it brewed, my senses were completely overwhelmed with the richest coffee smell…

Fast forward to now and I have a press that I like to use on weekends when the Hubs and I both want coffee. He bought me a bag of Cameron’s Highland Grog and it’s my favorite thing to brew on the weekends! (Oh, and here is the no-plastic pod version I have used in my Keurig!)

A French Press is just one of many ways to brew a great cup of coffee, and it is really quite simple, too! Basically you put your coffee grounds in the bottom of the press, add your water and set your timer. When the timer is done, you S-L-O-W-L-Y plunge the press sieve down to the bottom, pushing the grounds down, and Voila! Beautifully brewed coffee!

Benefits of Using a French Press

  • You can determine the strength of your brew.
  • It is a simple process.
  • You can get a VERY hot cup of coffee.
  • It is easy to cleanup.
  • It only takes a few minutes.

I hope that you enjoy a delicious cup of coffee today and celebrate National Coffee Day with me!!!
